who?

Welcome

Welcome to the Greensboro Toastmasters web site. We are the oldest Toastmaster club in Greensboro, founded in 1947. Our membership is a mixture of business professionals, teachers, preachers and students. We are a group of ordinary people with the uncommon desire to face a common fear. The fear of public speaking. Visitors are welcome. Here, at our web site, you'll find information on the club, where and when we meet, our activities and our achievements.

what?Today, Toastmasters International is a non-profit organization which gives its members the opportunity to develop and improve their public speaking abilities through local club meetings, training seminars and speech contests. Toastmasters International includes more than 199,000 men and women in more than 9,300 clubs in more than 70 countries.

why?Experienced professionals and beginning speakers alike can benefit from our practical, face-to-face learning program. Whether you're speaking to the board of directors, your customers, your co-workers or your kids, Toastmasters can help you do it better. You'll learn and practice in a friendly, comfortable environment with people who are there for the same reason you are—to become better communicators. Each meeting gives everyone an opportunity to practice conducting meetings, giving impromptu speeches, presenting prepared speeches, and offering constructive evaluation.

how?Membership in Greensboro Toastmasters is for a six-month period, so dues are collected in September and March. For every six month period, Greensboro Toastmasters dues are $12, and Toastmasters International dues are $27. There is a one-time new member fee to Toastmasters International of $20 to cover your first workbook and your subscription to The Toastmaster, a monthly magazine about improving your speaking and leadership skills. So to get started with Greensboro Toastmasters, your initial dues are $59 (prorated based on the month you start) and then $39 every six months thereafter.
